smoke

how do we rip apart the layers and become comfortable in our own skin? my room is immaculate and i am afraid of being in here because i don't want to make a mess. it's cold in basements! i went on an adventure today and took pictures in the rain. it was fun but i journeyed home all damp and tired. too tired to even go out tonight. anyway, check out my flickr for some pictures (it's linked on the right, but for lazy people, here: flickr). i'm not photographer, and i'm not very good at it, but i like it. i do not own a set of steady hands so shooting at night really sucks. sara's nikon has become my best friend. i like taking pictures of people. i need to do that more often. i like faces.

well. iowa legalized gay marriage today! a great day for a great nation. i'm not very political and i often bash america, but come on, we must symbolize more than laziness and obesity. we are a nation of diversity! or so we hope. all we need is a better health care system and, i guess given the current circumstances, something to lift this recession. obama's stimulus plan = fdr's new deal? anyway, step it up california. er, you had it right for about half a year...

i've been listening to the republic tigers. very good stuff. they are from alaska? not too sure. anyway i'm looking forward to new records from tegan and sara, band of horses, blonde redhead, and ra ra riot. they need to hurry, or take some time and make sure their albums are spectacular!

my tattoo is healing fine. it's all peel-y right now. my upper left arm looks like it better suits a limb of a reptile. roar. do reptiles roar? lions roar. this took about 4 hours. 4 hours of pain. it didn't hurt much until she started shading the waves. she used a 13 flat/magnum. i had to ask because i was watching and i couldn't count how many needles were on the gun. 13! i bled a lot. looked like i was getting a red tattoo. i like tattoos. this makes the tattoo on my right arm look so weak... i'm planning to modify it anyway. i will when i get some money. i also wanted to recolor is the same color as this one, but people keep telling me to leave the color. they said it looks good on my skin. my idea as of right now is to have the stuff i'm going to add in black and leave the original color. who knows.

anyway, my basement is all smokey. and keeping a cigarette in my mouth as i type gets smoke in my eyes so i have to close my eyes or it will hurt. ashtrays are smelly. really smelly.

i was going home on the train to get out of my wet clothes, and i realized that i was really tired. it was 9 pm. i went home and changed into pjs and got too comfortable to leave. that led to staying home and sitting at my desk with my laptop on. i'm a very boring person sometimes. but perhaps it's also a sign of age? i'm still young. very young. and i want to stay young forever! but i don't know where all my energy went. maybe i left it in my locker from high school.

carly told me about this dude she met. he thinks the chinese are out to get him so he duct taped the camera on his macbook. funny stuff. he also made a hole in his wall because he thought little chinese people were hiding in there. then he shaved his head and eyebrows because he thought he was an egyptian pharaoh. that guy has some serious problems.

modern technology is great, and i love the interweb/cyberspace, but i want to escape and be surrounded by trees and waterfalls and bushes of fresh raspberries for a few days. in my host school class, the kids watched a video about the 3 week summer trip they are taking to the mountains of massachusetts. i wanted to go. or at least go back to black rock. or camping. i like hiking. i doubt i am in the physical shape to hike but it would be fun!

peace and love,
t
