April is the month! ...for updates.
I've been doing a lot of reading, a lot of listening, a lot of observing, but not enough of thinking. But maybe all those things lead to too much thinking, and then it just evens out. A man came to Rickshaw about an hour before closing tonight. He said he was just going to wait for some buddies so he took a seat. I did my normal walk-through and cleaned the tables next to him. "I hope you guys aren't closing anytime soon." I told him he still has some time. "I have no idea where they are." He waited for an hour. No one showed. I felt so bad for him. There was something really sincere about his voice, his smile, his posture. He finally got up and walked to the register. I don't know, he might have been embarrassed and felt a need to talk to me before he left. He took a look at some of our t-shirts and mentioned how cute they are. Then he took a look at the menu. "Maybe another time," he said. Then he smiled and turned away. I didn't know what to say. Things like this happen all the time, but it sorta broke my heart. "Have a good night" was all I could think of. How could he have a good night?
If that had not happened, work would've been great today... despite the terrible weather. I don't understand. It was so nice yesterday. Carly invited me to go to the park and paint with her. I gladly accepted. She's such a hippie. She lit incenses. We painted. Then we went to Virgin and she bought "Storm of the Century", a Stephen King book turned into a mini series. We watched it. All five hours of it.
The weather was nice on Friday as well. Except for the thunderstorm at night. We went to Chinatown to get some food at around 2 or 3 am. The restaurant was about 10 minutes away from the subway station. We were soaked. Plus, the others were stoned, I was drunk, and the flashes of light in the sky didn't help the situation.
I went backwards in this post. How neat.
